Manchester United suffers worst defeat of the season, Olise bags brace
Manchester United was left stunned after the final whistle at Selhurst Park on Monday, May 6, as Erik ten Hag’s men were on the receiving end of a 4-0 battering at the hands of Crystal Palace, with Michael Olise scoring a brace.
Palace dominated the game from start to finish, putting Man United’s midfield and defense under immense pressure.
Olise opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a superb strike from outside the box. Jean Philippe Mateta doubled Palace’s lead in the 40th minute. Tyrick Mitchell sprinkled salt on Man United’s wound in the 58th minute to make the score 3-0.
Olise again scored to double his tally for the game, making it 4-0.
The Man United team sheet was noticeably missing their captain and key player Bruno Fernandes. It showed that Fernandes did not play.
Man United’s loss puts it behind Chelsea in the league table in 8th place, despite how many months in the season the Manchester club spent above Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
