Mali pounds Nigeria in friendly

Nigeria interim manager Finidi George has seen a loss in only the second game he has managed as Super Eagles manager, losing 2-0 to Mali.

The match was played yesterday, March 26, at the Stade de Marrakech, Morocco.

Nigeria went behind in the 18th minute to a goal from Mali striker El Bilal Toure.

The Super Eagles never recovered, because the job was finished by striker Kamory Doumbia in the 87th minute.

There is still a raging controversy regarding who will actually take over as permanent manager of the Super Eagles, with Airpeace Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Allen Onyema, warning the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not to hire another foreign coach.

The Eagles last permanent manager was Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro, and before him was German coach Gernot Rohr.
