Liverpool confirms Isaac Mabaya’s promising move to Wigan Athletic for 2025–2026 season
Liverpool FC announced on Friday that promising young player Isaac Mabaya has completed a loan transfer to Wigan Athletic for the upcoming 2025–2026 season.
The Reds revealed on their official website that Mabaya, who can operate both in defence and midfield, will join the League One side to gain valuable first-team experience.
Where did Mabaya start?
Mabaya, 20, made his competitive debut for Liverpool earlier this year during their Emirates FA Cup match against Plymouth Argyle. He has also been named on the bench twice under manager Arne Slot.
In related Premier League news, Arsenal may soon offload some players who are currently out of favour. Reports from SunSport indicate that Fulham are interested in taking Reiss Nelson on loan again this season. The London club also reportedly has plans to pursue Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has struggled for game time under Mikel Arteta.
Both players could feature in Fulham’s plans as the club seeks to strengthen its squad for the new campaign.
