Nigerian travel creator Alma Asinobi attempts world record by visiting all continents in 70 hours

On Friday, March 7, 2025, Nigerian travel creator Alma Asinobi made an exciting announcement: she plans to visit all seven continents in just 70 hours in an effort to set a new world record.

The incredible journey will kick off on March 15, 2025, with Asinobi starting in Australia and concluding her trip in Nigeria. In a heartfelt and viral video shared on her Instagram page, she explained that she’s undertaking this daring challenge with a Nigerian passport in order to draw attention to the struggles Africans face when it comes to passport privilege and travel restrictions.

“As I embark on this journey with a Nigerian passport, my goal is to shed light on the issue of passport privilege,” Asinobi said in the video. “When I fully recover from having to apply for more than 10 visas for this trip—and being rejected for two of them a total of five times—I will go in-depth about why we simply cannot afford to accept and remain silent about the second-class treatment we are subjected to when it comes to travel and visa requirements for citizens with low-mobility passports.”

She continued, emphasizing the importance of pushing boundaries: “I’m pushing the limits of one of the lowest-ranking passports in the world on this adventure to show what is possible and inspire you to see the world despite the limitations, while also shining a spotlight on a much-overlooked issue that affects over half of the world’s population, with Africans—both at home and in the diaspora—being among the most impacted.”

Asinobi’s remarkable attempt comes in the wake of the current Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all continents, held by Indian travelers Ali Irani and Sujoy Kumar Mitra, who completed the feat in three days, one hour, five minutes, and four seconds. Alma Asinobi’s endeavor is poised to challenge that record while spotlighting a crucial global issue.
