Leon Balogun eyes continued stay at Ibrox, seeks new contract with Rangers

On Friday, March 21, Nigeria defender Leon Balogun expressed his desire to sign a new contract with Scottish Premiership club Rangers as his current deal nears its end.
The 36-year-old centre-back, whose contract with the Light Blues has just a few months remaining, hopes to extend his stay at Ibrox and continue contributing to the club’s success.
“I didn’t play a lot at the beginning of my career—maybe that helps me now. I feel really good,” Balogun told the Daily Record. “If I can continue playing at a great club like this and contribute to more success, I have absolutely no reason to say no.”
Balogun originally joined Rangers in 2020 after a successful loan spell at Wigan Athletic. He returned to the club in July 2023, a year after leaving as a free agent, and is now hoping for the opportunity to remain at the club beyond the current season.
