The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan ahead of the 10th edition of the Lagos Women Run, scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 6:00 a.m.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the 10-kilometre race organised by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) in partnership with the event organisers will begin at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and end at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
Osiyemi explained that there will be partial road closures along several major routes, including TBS, Water Board, Old NITEL, Outer Marina, Officers’ Mess, Bonny Camp Bridge, State House, Ahmadu Bello Way, Akin Adesola Street, Falomo Bridge, Falomo Roundabout, Awolowo Road, Onikan Roundabout, and Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
To ensure smooth movement and safety during the event, traffic management personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Police, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps (LSNC) will be deployed along the affected routes.
Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes. Traffic from Ozumba Mbadiwe heading to Third Mainland Bridge should pass through Bonny Camp to Onikan Underpass, link Marina Exit to Force Road, and connect Outer Marina to the bridge. Those coming from Apongbon and heading to Ikoyi are advised to use Odunlami Street to link Igbosere Road, then Moloney Street to connect Ikoyi Road.
Osiyemi appealed for patience and cooperation from motorists, assuring that the closures are temporary and will be lifted gradually as the race progresses.
