Isaac Fayose says defending Tinubu’s government is difficult

Popular Nigerian businessman Isaac Fayose has said defending the administration of President Bola Tinubu is a difficult task.
Fayose made the remark while reacting to a recent interview granted by the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, on Al Jazeera’s Head to Head programme anchored by Mehdi Hasan.
During the interview, Bwala responded to questions on the security situation in Nigeria, where he acknowledged that the country faces insecurity but argued that no nation in the world is completely free from security challenges.
The interviewer had asked whether the government was proud that Nigeria is now ranked among the world’s deadliest countries, citing reports that place the country as the fifth most dangerous to live in.
Responding, Bwala said: “I acknowledge the fact that we have insecurity in Nigeria. We began to see back-to-back attacks in Nigeria after the Christian genocide narratives.”
Reacting in a video posted on his official Facebook page, Fayose criticised the government’s handling of security issues and said defending the current administration was difficult.
“You can’t defend this government without looking stupid,” he said.
He added that Nigeria being ranked as the fifth deadliest country raises concerns about governance and leadership.
“Nigeria is the fifth deadliest country to live in the world and Nigeria is one of the countries that you will see the most wicked politicians. How did we get here?” he said.
