Heartbroken parents beg IGP to help uncover whereabouts of missing daughter

Kingsley and Ogechukwu Amadi have cried out to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, Durosimi Olatoye; the Commissioner of Police, CP, Ogun State Command, and the Divisional Police Officer, DPO in charge of Ajuwon Division, Ogun State to help them to find their missing daughter, Chinemere Dorcas Kingsley Amadi.

The whereabouts of the 15-year-old Chinemere, who was allegedly taken to a Church in Ikeja, Lagos on 9 June 2024 at about 8 am by a female neighbour called Wanna, remain unknown.

They also appealed to kindhearted well-meaning Nigerians to help them with useful information that could lead to the whereabouts of the missing student of Akute Secondary School, Ogun State.

The parents said they have combed all the Police Stations and Hospitals in the area to check if they were arrested by the Police or involved in an accident leading to being hospitalized, but that their efforts have not produced any result.

The mother of the victim, Ogechukwu Kingsley Amadi stated: “The ugly incident occurred on Sunday 9 June 2024 at about 8 am at our residence located at 1, Bankole Street, Heritage Estate, Akute, Ogun State while I was about to go to our Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Akute Parish with my daughter.

“Her friend and a neighbour called Wanna came to my house to convince Dorcas to follow her to worship at her church located at Ikeja, Lagos.

“Before I could come out from my apartment due to leg pains to tell my daughter not to follow Wanna, my daughter had left with her and since then, I have not seen or heard from her.

“When I confronted Wanna’s mother, she told me not to worry about the incident assuring me that her daughter normally leaves home and comes back in 2 or 3 months later.

“The trauma of not seeing my daughter for days is too much for me to bear, that is why I am now fervently appealing to kindhearted well-meaning Nigerians to help me in any capacity to locate my daughter for me.

“I have reported the matter to the Police at the Ajuwon Division, Ogun State and the Police said they are investigating the matter but I am appealing to the AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos to help me take over the case to fast track the investigation,” Ogechukwu appealed.

The uncle of the victim, Benedict Ironsi Amadi also appealed to the AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, and the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State to please call for the case file of the missing teenager for accelerated investigation as time is running out.

Amadi said the family could be reached for information on 08034391233 and 07037128728.
