Former Delta north Senator Peter Nwaoboshi dies; Governor Oborevwori mourns loss’s

Former Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, has passed away. The details surrounding his death have not yet been disclosed.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State described Nwaoboshi’s death as a significant loss to Delta State, the Anioma nation, and Nigeria. In a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor hailed the late lawmaker as a proud son of Delta State and a courageous defender of the Anioma cause.

Oborevwori recalled Nwaoboshi’s distinguished service at the National Assembly, including his tenure as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, noting his advocacy for the region’s development and strong leadership.

Highlighting the senator’s political career, the governor said Nwaoboshi’s rise was rooted in a rich political pedigree and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals. He also served twice as Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I mourn the passing of my dear friend, Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi,” Oborevwori said, extending condolences to his family, the people of Anioma, party members, and all whose lives he touched.
