Former Chelsea defender inducted into Premier League Hall of Fame

Former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has been inducted into the Premier League (PL) Hall of Fame.

The left back will be the fourth inductee into the PL Hall of Fame that played for Chelsea, and the sixth that played for Arsenal.

He is the first former player to be inducted into the PL Hall of Fame in 2024, with voting still ongoing as to the next former player that will join him.

Cole played 385 Premier League games, with 156 of them coming for Arsenal, and 229 coming for Chelsea. The Englishman was also on the famous invincible Arsenal team, going all 38 league games in a season without losing a single one.

He scored 15 goals and recorded 39 assists in his Premier League career.

Cole also earned himself 107 international caps, getting his first cap in 2001. He played his last England game in 2014.

The former Chelsea defender won a plethora of trophies, including seven FA Cup titles, three Premier League titles, and one UEFA Champions league title.

So far, 22 former players have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, two of them being former managers.

Induction started in 2021, with eight former players getting in that year, eight also in 2022, and five in 2023.
