Explosion at Bagudo General Hospital in Kebbi; Police assures public safety

The Kebbi State Police Command has assured residents of public safety following a loud explosion at the General Hospital, Bagudo, in the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The assurance is contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman Anisma.

According to the statement, a joint security team comprising the Police, Military, and Vigilante personnel swiftly cordoned off and secured the affected area, while specialist EOD–CBRN teams were deployed to conduct a thorough assessment.

The Police confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident. Although a building within the hospital staff quarters sustained damage, occupants had already evacuated safely.

The statement further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has reinforced security around the hospital with additional tactical deployments to maintain public order, as a comprehensive investigation into the incident continues.

Members of the public are advised to remain calm and avoid the immediate vicinity to enable security and investigative operations proceed without hindrance.

The Kebbi state Police Command says further updates will be provided as investigations progress.
