Dele Momodu vows to tackle APC in 2027

Veteran journalist and politician Dele Momodu has declared that the opposition will not “play games” with the APC in the 2027 general elections. He insisted that the current administration’s performance has given the opposition a clear mandate to seek a change in leadership. Momodu believe that the 2027 polls will be a defining moment for the survival of the Nigerian state.

Building a united opposition front

The PDP chieftain noted that the fragmentation of the opposition in the 2023 elections was a major factor in the APC’s victory. He called for a more strategic and unified approach to ensure that the will of the people is not subverted again. Momodu is already engaging in high-level consultations with various political stakeholders to build a formidable coalition.

He argued that the economic policies of the Tinubu administration have caused significant hardship for the average Nigerian family. According to Momodu, the high cost of living and the devaluation of the naira will be the primary issues on the ballot. He believes that the electorate is now more discerning and will vote based on performance rather than tribal sentiments.

Demanding a transparent electoral system

Beyond political alliances, Momodu is advocating for a total overhaul of the country’s electoral laws and technological infrastructure. He believes that the 2027 elections must be conducted with the highest level of transparency to avoid the controversies of the past. The opposition intends to monitor the activities of INEC more closely than ever before to prevent any manipulation.

He challenged the ruling party to focus on governance and stop the “intimidation” of opposition voices across the country. Momodu warned that any attempt to turn Nigeria into a one-party state will be resisted by the masses. The veteran journalist remains one of the most vocal critics of the current government’s approach to security and economic management.

Empowering the youth for political change

A major part of Momodu’s strategy involves mobilizing the younger generation to take a more active role in the political process. He believes that the youth have the power to change the narrative and demand a better future for themselves. Through social media and community engagement, he hopes to create a movement that transcends traditional political boundaries.

As the race for 2027 begins to heat up, Momodu’s comments signal a more aggressive stance from the opposition. He has promised to remain a thorn in the side of the ruling party until a more equitable and prosperous Nigeria is achieved. The political landscape is set for a major showdown as the various factions prepare for the battle ahead.
