Dele Momodu says Ovation magazine elevated Wike’s image, criticizes minister’s recent remarks
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and media entrepreneur Dele Momodu has claimed that his publication, Ovation magazine, played a key role in boosting the political profile of the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Momodu made the statement on Monday, July 7, during an interview on Channels Television, in response to recent disparaging comments by Wike. The minister had referred to Momodu as a “boy” and dismissed him as a failed politician, pointing out that the media mogul failed to secure a single vote during his presidential bid.
Addressing Wike’s remarks, Momodu said: “Wike benefits immensely from my talent and the pedigree of Ovation Media Group. We pushed him up.”
He went further, criticizing Wike’s conduct and personal habits: “You know they say sometimes you can take the man out of the bush, but you can’t take the bush out of the man. He had one major problem, and that problem was too much alcohol.”
Momodu expressed disappointment that despite the support Ovation offered in enhancing Wike’s public image, the minister has shown no acknowledgment or appreciation.
