Dele Momodu alleges APC is trying to make Tinubu sole candidate in 2027 elections

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dele Momodu, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of attempting to make President Bola Tinubu the only candidate on the ballot in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Thursday in an interview on Arise Television, Momodu said the APC’s 31 governors would not guarantee electoral success, asserting that the party would be defeated if the election were held today.

He also criticized the conduct of the Federal Capital Territory Area Councils elections, alleging heavy-handed measures by the APC. “Just one election in a small city like FCT, they had to declare a curfew, and the minister of the FCT became the IGP, personally supervising polling stations across the city,” Momodu said.

He insisted that the opposition remains undeterred, adding, “They are trying to manoeuvre, but Nigerians are wiser than them. We are not worried or panicking in the ADC.”
