Dayo Amusa hits back at paternity critics
On Wednesday, November 27, renowned Yoruba actress Dayo Amusa took a stand against the ongoing speculation regarding the paternity of her newborn baby, Oluwafirewamiri. The 41-year-old actress, who welcomed her first child in the United States last week, has faced intense scrutiny on social media due to her decision to withhold the identity of the baby’s father.
Amusa addressed the criticism in a TikTok live session, where she asked her detractors, “I want to ask those asking about the father of my child if their husband is missing. Or did they find their husband inside my room? Because I honestly don’t understand why they are looking for the father of my child.”
She defended her right to privacy, explaining that she keeps the identity of her baby’s father private to shield her happiness from unnecessary negativity. “A child is not a fruit that drops from heaven. It’s a man-and-a-woman connection that makes a child. It’s not compulsory to congratulate me on the birth of my child. If it’s not convenient for you, don’t bother yourself, and I won’t hold it against you because I am a happy person.”
The actress’s comments have sparked further discussions online, with many supporters applauding her for standing firm on her personal boundaries.
