On Wednesday, April 9, Nigerian music icon Davido made a heartfelt vow to protect fellow musician Tiwa Savage from any harm, following a turbulent exchange between the two artists in the past.
Davido’s statement comes a year after Tiwa Savage filed a petition against him, accusing him of allegedly threatening her life. The issue began in January 2024, when Tiwa Savage posted a photo with Davido’s first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, on social media. The post led to a public disagreement between the singers, with Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband, Teebillz, also getting involved, threatening to teach Davido a lesson.
In a recent interview on Breakfast Club, Davido responded to the past incident, assuring the public that he would never let anything harm Tiwa. He explained their close bond, calling her his “sister for life” and emphasizing his commitment to protecting her.
He said, “We used to stay in the same house. The situation with Tiwa Savage was personal because she was a good friend to Sophia. Tiwa Savage is my sister for life, but she changed the game for females. We are family, and I love her and her child. It’s just like a brother and sister fight. She did reach out. I will never allow anything to happen to her.”
Davido’s words have since been shared widely, underscoring the deep respect and loyalty he feels toward Tiwa Savage despite any past conflicts.
