Dangote refinery to begin direct fuel distribution, cuts PMS price to N820 per litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced that it will begin the direct distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to filling stations across Nigeria from Monday, September 15, 2025, with a corresponding reduction in pump prices.

In a statement on Thursday, the company said the gantry price has been reduced to N820 per litre, while retail prices will vary across states. Fuel will sell at N841 per litre in Lagos and other South-West states, while Abuja, Rivers, Delta, Edo and Kwara states will see prices at N851 per litre.

The first phase of the programme will cover the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Kwara, Delta, Edo, Rivers and South-West states, with a nationwide rollout to follow as more trucks are delivered.

According to the company, the distribution will rely on compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered transportation, a move expected to save the Nigerian economy over N1.8 trillion annually by cutting logistics costs, reducing pump prices and easing inflationary pressures.

Dangote Group added that the initiative will benefit more than 42 million micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by lowering energy costs and boosting profit margins. The company is also investing N720 billion into the project, which it said will revive dormant filling stations nationwide.

The programme is expected to create new jobs, including truck drivers, filling station managers, and fuel attendants. Petrol station owners have been urged to register for free delivery and associated benefits, while other stakeholders including telecommunications firms and large-scale fuel consumers were invited to partner with the scheme.
