Controversial singer Portable claims Olamide will regret not signing him

Portable makes public demand and accuses rapper of neglect

Controversial Nigerian singer Portable, known for his hit track “Zazuu,” has publicly challenged and called out renowned rapper and record label executive Olamide, asserting that the music producer will eventually come to regret his decision not to sign him to his record label, YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop Nation).

The singer made the claims through a public statement where he accused Olamide of neglecting him despite their past association and cooperation in the music industry.

Portable explicitly stated, “You will regret not signing me.” He reinforced his self-belief and reliance on a higher power, stating, “I believe in God, my phone, and sub. Any disappointment is a blessing, Zazuu, I am blessed internationally, I get fan base.” This strong affirmation of his current success and international reach suggests he believes his independent trajectory has already surpassed any opportunity Olamide might have offered.

Accusations of blockades and fighting for rights

The singer did not mince words in suggesting that Olamide’s alleged decision not to fully support or sign him was tied to a perceived confrontation over his independence. Portable wrote, “Olamide Bado go regret why him no sign me or carry me alongside again just because I fight for my own right.” This implies that the singer felt he was being mistreated or undervalued, which led to a rift in their relationship. He casts his fight for his rights as a pivotal point that led to the missed opportunity for Olamide.

Portable also hinted at external forces trying to impede his career, a common theme in his public pronouncements. He declared, “God of Zazuu is coming for you people too those who dey block my ways i believe i can fly star don’t beg to shine God Sent my Helper to me I international so I can be big more than them.”

This defiant statement demonstrates his conviction that divine intervention and the help of others, whom he describes as his “Helper,” have ensured his rise to international stardom regardless of any blockades or sabotage attempts by industry figures.

Portable credits Skepta and promotes self-love

In a notable move, Portable went on to credit British-Nigerian rapper Skepta as a key figure in his success story following his split or lack of full commitment from Olamide. He stated, “If you forget me my own God no go forget me God bless Skepta my Helper wey carry me from where them stop.” This direct mention of Skepta highlights the international support he has received, contrasting it with the perceived negligence from his local counterpart, Olamide. This public acknowledgment serves to solidify his current alliances and achievements in the global music scene.

The controversial singer wrapped up his message with a philosophical piece of advice about loyalty and discerning genuine support: “Love who love you Support those who support you them fit carry you a trabaye make them still dey hate on you because you no be mumu. If you spoil me for who love me you go die young.”

This concluding thought emphasizes the importance of mutual support and warns against those who might seek to undermine him to people who genuinely care about his career, further positioning himself as an artist who values his independence and refuses to be manipulated. The public call-out and the bold prediction of regret directed at the influential Olamide is set to generate significant discussion across the Nigerian music industry and social media platforms.
