Social media applications Facebook and Instagram are experiencing downtime, with many users unable to access their accounts, Daily Post reports.
As things stand, it is difficult to determine whether it’s just a country-wide issue or a worldwide issue.
Users and stakeholders are awaiting official communication from Meta, the parent company of these social media apps, but none has been released yet.
This problem is not platform specific, as users are having the same issues regardless of the device they’re using, be it desktop or mobile.
Some users fear that they have been hacked. A fear that is heightened by an inability to reset their passwords despite attempts.
This is not new either, as Facebook has had these issues several times in the past, the most notable being in 2022.
