Boko Haram attack kills brigade commander in Borno

The Brigade Commander of the Joint Task Force in Benesheikh, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State, Brigadier-General O. Braimah, has reportedly been killed in a Boko Haram attack.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when insurgents stormed the military formation in large numbers, according to sources. Several of the attackers were also said to have been killed during the confrontation.
The chairman of Kaga Local Government Area, Hon. Zanna Ajimi, confirmed the development, stating that the brigade commander was among those who lost their lives.
“Yes, we just left the military base now, and I can confirm to you that the brigade commander is among the casualties,” Ajimi said.
A social media user, Mallam Lawa Benesheikh, also reacted to the incident, describing it as unfortunate and offering prayers for the fallen officers.
“Boko Haram has again, unfortunately, succeeded in eliminating the commanding officer of Benesheikh. This unfortunate incident occurred yesterday night when the insurgents stormed the military formation in numbers. May the souls of the fallen heroes rest in peace,” he said.
