PDP chieftain says disloyal members should “ship out”
Olabode George, a senior figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has warned party members that internal sabotage will no longer be tolerated as the party prepares for its next national convention.
Speaking on Arise TV on Friday, George took aim at dissenters within the PDP who he said are “progress terminators.”
“If you’re not here to build, ship out,” he said bluntly.
Elective convention now on the table
What was originally planned as a non-elective convention has now been converted to an elective one, according to George, due to internal crises and recent resignations of key officials.
“This convention was supposed to be non-elective. But due to the internal issues we’ve had, NEC decided it must now be elective,” he explained.
Call for discipline and unity
George, who once served as PDP’s Deputy National Chairman and as a military governor of Ondo State, expressed frustration with disloyal party members.
He said if the PDP is serious about being a credible opposition ahead of 2027, it must take decisive action against those who undermine its unity.
He also referenced the party’s zoning committee, set up by the National Executive Committee (NEC), which is currently reviewing leadership positions across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
