Man United’s new striker backs himself before debut
New Manchester United signing Benjamin Sesko has confidently outlined why he believes he’s a more complete striker than Arsenal’s Viktor Gyökeres, just days ahead of their potential face-off in the Premier League opener at Old Trafford this Sunday.
Sesko: “I bring speed, power, and heading”
Speaking to MUTV, the 22-year-old forward highlighted his key strengths—speed, power, finishing, and aerial ability—and made it clear he’s ready to attack any defensive gaps.
“I’m the kind of guy who is ready to attack, to be in front, if there is space behind to run into,” Sesko said.
“If there are crosses, it’s always going to be nice. I’m always going to be there.”
Unlike Gyökeres, whose aerial threat has been relatively limited—just four headed goals in 102 games for Sporting—Sesko considers heading a major part of his game.
High expectations after big-money move
Sesko joined United from RB Leipzig last week in a deal worth up to £73.7 million, and has already been handed his preferred No. 30 shirt.
The Slovenian is expected to bring pace and dynamism to United’s frontline—a clear part of manager Erik ten Hag’s strategy for the new season.
