Barcelona smashes Napoli to qualify for UCL quarterfinals

FC Barcelona has qualified for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals after an emphatic 3-1 win last night against SSC Napoli.

Barcelona drew the first leg, but it was a beat down at the Camp Nou as Xavi’s men battered Napoli’s goal for 90 minutes.

Fermin Lopez handed the lead to the home side in the 15th minute, and Joao Cancelo doubled the lead in the 17th minute. Napoli centerback Amir Rrahmani pulled one back for the away side, but Robert Lewandowski put the nail in the coffin in the 83rd minute to dash Napoli’s hopes of a comeback.

Napoli, led by Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, created goal-scoring chances of its own, but were wasteful, with Osimhen himself missing a clear-cut chance to score in the fourth minute of the game.

This win means Barcelona is now in the last eight of the Champions League, joining Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern, Arsenal, and Paris Saint Germain (PSG).
