Atiku criticizes Tinubu’s security failure after Plateau killings

On Friday, April 4, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, lashed out at President Bola Tinubu over what he called the failure of the country’s security architecture.
Atiku’s comments came in response to the recent killings in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, where violence has left several communities devastated. He accused Tinubu of allowing security issues to become a nationwide problem, with killings becoming an all-too-common occurrence that often goes unnoticed.
In a post on X, Atiku wrote, “The failure of Bola Tinubu’s security architecture has now become an endemic nationwide phenomenon with repeated killings, more of which do not even make the headlines.”
He added that Nigerians are being forced to “get used to such news of wanton killings,” and extended his condolences to the bereaved communities and families affected by the Plateau killings.
Atiku concluded by urging the Tinubu-led government to “reconfigure its security architecture to meet the needs of protecting the lives and properties of our people.”
