Apostle Chinyere crowned king, receives staff of office
Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, the General Overseer (GO) of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), has been named Ihie 1 of Ikwuorie autonomous community, after receiving his staff of office from the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Alex Otti. This makes him the first GO in Nigeria to be named king.
Per reports, the Ikwuorie autonomous community, situated in Ohanku Ndoki, Ukwa East LGA of Abia State, has been without a monarch since 2013 when their then king, His Royal Highness Prof. I. N. Kanu died. This left a vacuum in the highest seat in Ikwuorie, as the people yearned for a leader who would restore peace, bring progress, instill the fear of God, and develop the community.
This made Apostle Chinyere the perfect candidate. However, he initially rejected the position, urging that it be placed on someone else, with his full support, but after many years, the GO now sees it as a call to serve and has now accepted to be king.
Other pastors who have been crowned kings have often resigned before assuming the kingship role, but Apostle Chinyere continues to perform both roles concurrently.
Apostle Chinyere is a great philanthropist, having built 33 state-of-the-art free schools and the largest multi-skills acquisition center in the country. He is the first man of God to do so. The skills acquisition center has trained over 40,000 Nigerians in 30 different skills for free.
In addition to these, he has constructed two free specialist hospitals and developed over 18 free estates. He has also sponsored scholarship programs that have seen over 8,000 less privileged Nigerians study in the United States (US), Cyprus, Benin Republic, Poland, Canada, Turkey, and many more.
In the Ikwuorie Autonomous Community, His Royal Majesty King Apostle Chinyere has constructed the first state-of-the-art free school, free hospitals, and a free skills acquisition center. Additionally, he has renovated the only government secondary school in the community, making it a free school where he covers the school fees for students from Junior Secondary School (JSS) 1 to Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3.
The Ikwuorie autonomous community welcomed their new king with open arms, in the hopes he would lead them toward peace, progress, and prosperity, as his title Ihie 1 suggests, which means “the light”
