APC remains the party to beat in 2027 – Jatau

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has declared that the All Progressives Congress remains the dominant force in Nigerian politics. Speaking at a grassroots mobilization event, the Speaker insisted that the party’s record of performance will secure its victory in the 2027 general elections. He argued that the opposition parties are currently too fragmented to pose a serious threat to the ruling party’s hold on power.

Defending the legacy of the ruling party

Jatau noted that the APC has implemented far-reaching reforms that are beginning to transform the economic landscape of Nasarawa State. He highlighted the various infrastructure projects and agricultural initiatives that have directly benefited the local farmers and traders. According to him, the “Renewed Hope” agenda is not just a slogan but a working blueprint for a better Nigeria.

The Speaker urged party members to remain united and focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people at the ward level. He believes that the electorate is now more interested in tangible results than in the empty promises of those who failed the country in the past. Jatau emphasized that the APC is a party for all Nigerians, regardless of their ethnic or religious background.

The state of the opposition in Nigeria

The Nasarawa Speaker pointed out that the internal crises rocking the major opposition parties have made them unattractive to serious-minded voters. He claimed that the leadership struggles within the PDP and the Labour Party are signs of a lack of internal democracy. Without a cohesive front, it will be impossible for these groups to convince Nigerians that they are ready for the task of national governance.

He argued that while the APC welcomes healthy competition, the current opposition lacks a viable alternative ideology. Most of their activities are centered around criticizing the government without providing any better solutions to the nation’s challenges. Jatau believes that this lack of vision will lead to a landslide victory for the APC come 2027.

Grassroots mobilization for future victory

As the countdown to the next election cycle begins, the Speaker has called for a massive membership drive across the North-Central zone. He wants the party to attract more young people and women who are eager to contribute to the development of the country. By strengthening the structures at the grassroots, the APC can ensure that its message of progress reaches every corner of the state.

Jatau also praised the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdullahi Sule for their synergy in driving the national and state development agendas. He noted that this partnership has led to a significant improvement in the security and business climate of Nasarawa. The Speaker’s confidence is a reflection of the general mood within the ruling party as it prepares for the challenges ahead.

A call for continued national stability

Beyond the politics of elections, Jatau urged all Nigerians to support the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy. He acknowledged that the current reforms have brought some temporary pains, but he insisted that the long-term gains will be worth it. The Speaker believes that a stable and prosperous Nigeria is only possible under the steady hand of the APC.

The declaration by the Nasarawa Speaker has set the tone for the political discourse in the region as the 2027 talk intensifies. Opposition figures have already started reacting, but Jatau remains undeterred in his conviction. For him, the APC is not just a political party but a movement dedicated to the total transformation of the Nigerian state.
