Season kicks off with high expectations
The 2025–26 football season is about to get underway, and all eyes are on three high-profile signings — Viktor Gyökeres at Arsenal, Benjamin Sesko at Manchester United, and Joao Pedro at Chelsea.
Gyökeres arrives from Sporting CP after a record-breaking 54-goal campaign, Sesko just completed his move to Old Trafford, and Pedro joined Chelsea earlier this summer before the Club World Cup.
McCoist’s pick for top scorer
Rangers legend Ally McCoist believes all three will find the net this season, but he’s backing Gyökeres to lead the scoring charts.
“I think they will all score goals, but I’ll actually go with Gyökeres,” McCoist told talkSPORT. “I just think he’ll get more chances in that Arsenal team than Sesko will at United or Pedro at Chelsea.”
Early showdown on the horizon
Fans might not have to wait long to see two of these strikers go head-to-head — Arsenal face Manchester United in their Premier League opener on Sunday, which could see Gyökeres and Sesko line up on opposite sides.
