Adesina mourns Christopher Kolade, describes Him as a man of integrity

Former Special Adviser to the late President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, has expressed sadness over the passing of veteran broadcaster and diplomat, Dr Christopher Kolade, describing him as a man of integrity and accountability.

Kolade, who served as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, died on Wednesday at the age of 92.

Reacting in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, Adesina said the late Kolade lived a life worthy of emulation and served Nigeria diligently.

“We have lost a great man — a man of reputation when it comes to integrity, conscience, accountability, and reliability. Dr Christopher Kolade was a man you could depend on; somebody whose words you could stand by,” Adesina said.

He recalled that former President Buhari had deep respect and admiration for Kolade, often describing him as a man of honour.

“I met him a few times, and my boss, the late President Muhammadu Buhari, had so much confidence in him. A number of times, I heard him talk about Dr Christopher Kolade, and he always said very good things about him,” he added.

Kolade, a veteran broadcaster, served as Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and later as Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc.

He was widely recognised for his professionalism, integrity, and contributions to national development.
