Immediate past Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will reclaim power in Oyo State in the 2027 governorship election.
Adelabu announced that he would formally declare his governorship ambition on Tuesday in Ibadan, the state capital, describing the move as the beginning of a renewed political journey aimed at rebuilding the state under APC leadership.
According to him, his decision to contest on the platform of the APC was driven by a desire to build a better Oyo State and return the state to what he described as progressive governance.
He expressed confidence that the APC would defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through unity, commitment and the support of party members and residents across the state.
“APC would reclaim power in the state in 2027 through unity, commitment and the support of party faithful and residents,” he said.
Adelabu was the APC governorship candidate in the 2019 election but lost to Governor Seyi Makinde of the PDP, who is expected to complete his second term in office in 2027.
