Davido blasts Nigeria’s leadership, says country lacks the right guidance to reach potential
Afrobeats megastar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has voiced his frustration with Nigeria’s leadership, asserting that the country’s lack of effective governance is the major barrier to its progress.
In a revealing conversation on the Elevate Africa Convos podcast on Friday, December 6, Davido discussed his views on Nigeria’s potential and the leadership crisis that he believes is holding the nation back.
“I tell people, if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere,” Davido remarked, reflecting on the harsh realities many Nigerians face.
“The only thing missing is the right leaders to guide us. Once we get that right, I believe there’s nothing that can stop us,” he added, stressing the crucial role of competent leadership in unlocking the country’s full potential.
This statement comes on the heels of Davido’s controversial remarks in a recent podcast interview, where he warned Americans against considering relocation to Africa, particularly Nigeria, due to the country’s “shambles” of an economy.
In another interview with The Morning Hustle podcast, Davido also expressed concern over Nigeria’s democratic shortcomings, noting that the country lacks true democracy.
