Rodri urges Man City to sign 22-year-old Nico Williams, with three other clubs also interested
Manchester City midfielder Rodri has expressed his desire for the club to sign 22-year-old Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, with the player also attracting interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
Williams, who has been linked with a move away from Bilbao, caught the attention of top clubs during the summer transfer window. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Barcelona all reportedly explored the possibility of signing the Spain international.
The young winger was one of Spain’s standout performers at Euro 2024, scoring a crucial goal in their 2-1 victory over England in the final.
Speaking at AS’ awards ceremony in Madrid on Monday, December 2, 2024, Rodri was asked by the host if he would take Williams to Manchester City. His response was unequivocal: “Yes, yes. Right now, if I was taking him, I would also be taking him to teach him a little bit about the cold in England, although it’s similar to Bilbao. But yes, I would take him with me without a doubt.”
