Young Thug eyes streaming career, hints at quitting music

Atlanta rapper Young Thug has revealed he may be stepping away from music to explore a new path streaming. During a surprise appearance on popular streamer Adin Ross’ Kick stream, the rapper expressed admiration for the streamer lifestyle and hinted at shifting careers.

“I’ma stop doing music and start streaming,” Thug told Adin Ross and fellow streamer Neon while visiting Ross’ streaming warehouse. “I think I’m gonna stop. I’m telling ya, I’m done rapping and gonna start streaming.”

Thug praised their day-to-day routine, saying, “Y’all live a cool life. Y’all go everywhere every day. Y’all got cats wondering around this bi—. Y’all n—as got all types of crazy stuff.”

Both Ross and Neon urged him not to quit music, jokingly saying they didn’t want to be blamed for the rapper’s decision. When pressed for details on his upcoming album UY SCUTI, Thug playfully dodged the question, joking it would drop on “June 37.”

Ross, aiming to convince him further, revealed that he made $300,000 in June from just nine streams and nearly $600,000 in May from 16 sessions. He suggested the two collaborate on a subathon when Thug decides to go live, to which Thug replied, “Let’s do it,” before leaving the stream.

The stream also featured appearances from NBA star Tyler Herro and rapper Lil Baby. Thug’s segment starts around the 6:58:00 mark in the eight-hour-long stream.

Despite teasing a career shift, Thug is still set to headline several major events, including ComplexCon in Las Vegas this October, Summer Smash Festival (June 20–22), and Les Ardentes Festival in Belgium on July 5.

On the legal front, Thugger’s long-running RICO case, which stretched over three years, has finally come to a close, potentially marking a new chapter in both his personal and professional life.
