Yomi Fabiyi claims possession of video evidence in Mohbad’s murder

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has made a sensational claim regarding the death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, asserting that he possesses a video that purportedly shows how the artiste was killed. The actor released a clip on social media to publicly air his claims and issued a direct appeal to President Bola Tinubu for immediate intervention in the case.

Allegations of extortion and official cover-up

Fabiyi escalated the controversy by alleging that the video evidence was sent to him as part of an extortion attempt. He did not elaborate on the source of the extortion or the amount demanded, but framed the situation as a deliberate attempt to suppress the truth.

The actor further disclosed that he had previously reached out to President Tinubu in an official capacity. He claimed to have written a letter to the President in May 2025, informing the nation’s highest office that Mohbad was not merely deceased but was, in fact, “murdered.”

Fabiyi detailed his understanding of the official investigation, stating that Mohbad’s case file had been reviewed by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, and key suspects related to the singer’s death were officially identified.

The attempt to silence key witnesses

The central and most serious of Fabiyi’s claims revolves around an alleged attempt by the authorities or influential figures to protect the identified suspects and cover up the findings of the investigation.

The actor alleged: “Now they want to cover it up. They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests. This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you.”

This statement suggests a profound internal conflict within the investigative process, where high-profile suspects are allegedly being mobilized to target a potential witness—Yomi Fabiyi—who claims to hold critical video evidence. The actor’s public appeal to President Tinubu underscores the perceived need for high-level political intervention to ensure the integrity of the investigation into the controversial death of the popular singer.
