Official dismisses reports as fake news designed to create political tension
A close political associate of Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Honourable Aminu Shehu, has vehemently refuted claims circulating on social media that the Senator referred to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as someone who is “caged” inside the Presidential Villa.
Shehu, a long-time ally of the former Zamfara State Governor, dismissed the claim as entirely fake news. He asserted that the fabricated report was a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and stir unnecessary political tension between the two prominent politicians.
The contentious claim reportedly emerged following the One Nigeria Project Conference recently held in Abuja. According to Shehu, the narrative circulating online stands in sharp contrast to the actual remarks made by Senator Yari during the event. He insisted that the false publication should be immediately discarded by the public as having no basis in truth.

Honourable Shehu clarified that Senator Yari’s address at the conference was overwhelmingly positive and focused on promoting national unity. Yari reportedly delivered remarks that strongly praised President Tinubu’s dedication and hard work since assuming office. The Senator highlighted the President’s tireless efforts to restore economic stability and drive development across Nigeria.
Yari specifically emphasized that President Tinubu has been “working tirelessly” and receiving detailed briefs from all key sectors of the nation. He stressed that the President is deeply engaged in the country’s multifaceted challenges, demonstrating a firm commitment to finding solutions that benefit all citizens. This description directly contradicts the notion of a President who is isolated or “caged” in Aso Villa.

Shehu further quoted Senator Yari as explaining that many of the persistent problems currently facing Nigeria are largely self-inflicted.
