Wizkid crowned most awarded African artist with 158 accolades

Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has solidified his position as the most awarded African artist, boasting a total of 158 awards.
The 34-year-old singer’s impressive collection includes two American Music Awards, one Grammy Award, one MTV Video Music Award, three Soul Train Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, and two iHeartRadio Music Awards. Wizkid also holds the record for the most BET and MOBO Awards won by an African artist, with four BET Awards and six MOBO Awards to his name.
Trailing closely behind is Beninese-French singer Angélique Kidjo, a five-time Grammy winner with 140 total awards, securing her spot as the second most awarded African artist.
Taking third place is Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, who has received 120 awards, including 30 Ghana Music Awards, three Soundcity Music Video Awards, three Headies Awards, two BET Awards, and one MTV Africa Music Award.
Afrofusion powerhouse Burna Boy ranks fourth with 96 awards, followed by Congolese singer Fally Ipupa (90 awards), Nigerian superstar Davido (85 awards), and legendary singer 2Baba (80 awards).
