Victor Osimhen explains why he fought to return to Galatasaray

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has opened up about his emotional return to Galatasaray, following a record-breaking €75 million transfer from Napoli — a deal that has gone down in Turkish football history.

Osimhen, 26, landed in Istanbul on Wednesday night, where he was welcomed by excited yellow-red fans at Ataturk Airport. His official signing ceremony is scheduled to take place at Rams Park before Galatasaray’s match against Lazio on Saturday.

Why Osimhen insisted on returning to Galatasaray

Speaking to GSTV, the club’s official channel, Osimhen said his return was not just about football, but about a deep emotional bond with Galatasaray.

“I have a deep connection with this club, this city, these people. That’s why I fought so hard to return here,” he said.

Osimhen spent last season on loan with the Turkish Super Lig champions and made a huge impression on and off the pitch.

“I continue to have that feeling — to continue playing with a purpose,” he added.
“I want to do what’s best for myself and the fans, and I’m really happy to be here.”

With this high-profile move, Galatasaray has not only secured one of the most sought-after strikers in the world but also reignited the passion of fans who see Osimhen as a symbol of ambition and loyalty.
