Uche Maduagwu calls on May Edochie to condemn insults against Yul Edochie
Controversial Nollywood actor Uche Maduagwu has publicly urged May Edochie to speak out against the online insults directed at her estranged husband, Yul Edochie.
Maduagwu took to Instagram on Thursday, July 10, 2025, to express his concerns, questioning May’s silence amid the repeated online backlash.
In his post, the actor acknowledged that while May might not control every comment made by her fans, he believes she has a responsibility to make a public statement urging them to stop insulting Yul.
Maduagwu argued that May’s silence could be seen as tacit approval of the insults, especially considering her legal marital status to Yul Edochie.
He wrote, “The May nation knows that their Queen May is still legally married to Yul Edochie, yet they come online and ridicule him, insult him and say rubbish about his family name on social media. Is that respect to una Queen May? Make una fear God.
“And honestly I don’t blame those people for ridiculing Yul Edochie. I blame Queen May because you know that you are still legally married to this man, yet some people gathered together on social media to be insulting, ridiculing and talking bad about your husband and you have never for one day made a post and said please don’t insult him. He is still my husband; we are not legally divorced.
“If you know you are not willing to tell all those your fans to stop insulting your husband, you have to remove that name because some people are saying it’s the Edochie name that is giving you favour and endorsement. Infact I challenge you Queen May, prove to Nigerians that you’re a Christian woman and you respect your legally married husband. Tell your fans to stop ridiculing him.”
