Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has confirmed that the club remains determined to sign Southampton striker Paul Onuachu.
Onuachu, who spent last season on loan with Trabzonspor, scored 17 goals across all competitions for the Turkish Premier League team. Trabzonspor is keen on making his move permanent but has struggled to meet Southampton’s asking price.
Despite the challenges, Dogan is hopeful that a deal will be reached before the transfer window closes.
“Onuachu is also our coach’s top request. We are in discussions with him and his club,” Dogan told Turkish website NTV Spor on Monday, August 26.
“We made a serious offer of 6 million euros plus bonuses, but his club’s demand remains at 15 million euros.
“The transfer period is ending soon, but I believe it will be resolved positively, either through a loan or a purchase like last time. Our talks are ongoing.”
