Tiwa Savage denies trolling Wizkid, says online feud is a false narrative

No bad blood, says Afrobeats queen
Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has cleared the air on long-standing rumours that she once trolled Wizkid, dismissing the claims as completely false.
The speculation resurfaced after a fan on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) claimed Savage had taken shots at Wizkid in the past—allegedly due to a falling out between the two stars.
In response, another fan asked Grok, the X AI bot, whether Savage had ever trolled the Starboy boss. The bot confirmed there was no evidence of such behaviour.
“Never done that,” says Tiwa
With the AI’s response seemingly clearing her name, Tiwa Savage finally broke her silence:
“Thank you o, have never done that. But they have just ran with this narrative and I have just kept quiet.”
Savage had largely avoided addressing the issue until now, choosing instead to stay out of the drama—until fans reignited the controversy online.
Backstory: from music video chemistry to fan drama
Tiwa Savage and Wizkid set off dating rumours back in 2018 after their steamy on-screen chemistry in Wizkid’s Fever music video. While fans speculated about a romance, both artists publicly denied ever being in a relationship.
Their apparent closeness eventually faded, leading to rumours of a falling out—fueling unfounded claims that Savage had taken shots at Wizkid online.
Clearing the record
Savage’s latest comment makes it clear: there’s no trolling, no beef, and any fan-driven drama is based on fiction, not fact.
Whether or not the two will collaborate again remains to be seen, but for now, Tiwa is shutting down the false narratives—on her own terms.
