Tinubu’s policies worsening northern hardship – Kano APC chieftain

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, a leading political figure in Kano, Abdulmajid Danbilki Commander, accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of neglecting the northern region and exacerbating its economic struggles.

In a widely shared TikTok video, Danbilki, a prominent member of the APC and strong supporter of former President Muhammadu Buhari, sharply criticized the current administration for its handling of Nigeria’s economy, particularly highlighting the rising cost of living.

Danbilki pointed out the significant increase in the prices of staple foods, noting that the cost of a bag of rice has surged from N26,000 during Buhari’s administration to N96,000 today.

He urged President Tinubu to urgently address these economic challenges, warning that the growing hardship could undermine public trust in his leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.

The APC chieftain also took aim at northern politicians within Tinubu’s government, accusing them of putting personal interests ahead of regional progress. Despite holding key positions in the administration, he claimed they have failed to push for policies that benefit the North.

He reminded these officials that political power is temporary and called on them to prioritize tangible development for the region before their time in office concludes.
