Tinubu minister Yusuf Ata mocks Atiku, El-Rufai, and Obi’s coalition, says it’s ‘dead on arrival’

On Friday, March 21, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, dismissed the coalition formed by Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Nasir El-Rufai to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections, calling it “dead on arrival.”
Speaking from Kano, Ata argued that Tinubu’s administration has already delivered successful economic and political reforms since taking office in 2023, boosting public trust in his leadership.
He criticized Atiku as a “serial contester,” El-Rufai as a “desperate power seeker,” and Obi as a politician who stirs ethnic and religious divisions in the country.
“The country has moved beyond trial-and-error governance. We no longer need politicians who rely on sentiments and lack a clear ideology to gain support,” Ata said.
He pointed to Tinubu’s intervention in the Rivers State political crisis as proof of his effective governance.
Ata concluded that the new opposition coalition lacks credibility and public support, describing its members as “political jobbers” simply seeking relevance in the political landscape.
