Fresh appointments for regional development

President Bola Tinubu has approved the portfolios of five new executive directors for the North Central Development Commission (NCDC). The appointments aim to accelerate development efforts in Nigeria’s North-Central region.

The announcement came Monday via a statement from Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Who got what role?

Here’s a breakdown of the appointees and their assigned portfolios:

  • Hajiya Biliquis Jumoke – Administration and Human Resources

  • Mrs Aisha Rufai Ibrahim – Commercial and Industrial Development

  • Mr James Abel Uloko – Corporate Services

  • Prof. Muhammad Bashar – Finance

  • Atika Ajanah – Projects

What this means

The NCDC’s mission is to promote sustainable development across the North-Central zone. President Tinubu has urged the new directors to work collaboratively with the governing board to deliver real impact in the region.

The appointments come at a time when many are watching how federal development agencies will address infrastructure, unemployment, and economic inclusion at the regional level.
