Ten Hag responds to Ronaldo’s criticism, suggests he’s out of touch

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent comments accusing him of lacking ambition.

This week, Ronaldo reignited his feud with Ten Hag by criticizing him for suggesting that Manchester United may not be capable of winning the Premier League or Champions League. Ronaldo expressed his discontent, asserting that no United manager should make such statements.

In a response to reporters on Thursday, September 12, Ten Hag downplayed Ronaldo’s remarks, implying that the forward’s perspective might be influenced by his current position at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

“He said that Manchester United can’t win the Premier League,” Ten Hag noted. “He said this if you read the article very well. He is far away in Saudi, far away from Manchester, so everyone can have an opinion and is entitled to have an opinion, it is okay.”

Ten Hag’s comments suggest that he believes Ronaldo’s distance from the club may affect his understanding of the current situation at Old Trafford.
