Tinubu’s government on track for positive change – Mohammed Idris

On Thursday, March 13, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, shared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leading Nigeria with a strong sense of divine responsibility and confidence that history will judge his administration favorably.

Speaking at the ongoing Ministerial Press Briefing Session in Abuja, Idris emphasized that effective governance requires leaders who approach their roles with a deep understanding of their responsibilities to the nation and its future.

“The reforms being implemented by President Tinubu are not just well-intentioned, but necessary for Nigeria’s growth and development,” Idris stated. “We have crossed the Rubicon. The pains of reform are gradually easing, and the positive effects are becoming visible. We are already seeing a reduction in food prices, stability in exchange rates, and a decline in the cost of petroleum products – clear signs that these reforms are working.”

Idris also noted that history demonstrates how difficult but essential reforms are. “Meaningful reforms are never easy. They require sacrifice, resilience, and a long-term commitment to progress. The initial struggles we experience are the price for a better future for Nigeria,” he explained.

He took the opportunity to thank Nigerians for their patience and support of the president’s vision. “I sincerely appreciate Nigerians for their perseverance and unwavering belief in the President’s vision,” he said.

Urging national unity, Idris called on religious leaders to pray for the country during the sacred times of Ramadan and Lent. “I encourage Muslim and Christian leaders to pray for peace, security, and progress in Nigeria. With unity and faith, we will come out stronger and more resilient, positioned for lasting prosperity,” he said.

At the briefing, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, also presented their updates on the government’s accomplishments and ongoing initiatives.
