Kano welcomes new Police boss Bakori

On Tuesday, March 11, the Police Service Commission (PSC) picked Ibrahim Adamu Bakori to be the new Commissioner of Police for Kano State.

Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC’s news leader, shared that Bakori is from Katsina State. He’s taking over from Salman Garba Dogo, who got a big promotion to Assistant Inspector General of Police. Before this, Bakori was the top cop solving murder mysteries at the Force Investigation Department in Abuja.

Bakori has had tons of cool jobs! He was the boss of a special team in Bayelsa State called Operation Doo Akpo, worked at police headquarters in Abuja, and helped solve crimes in Bayelsa and Rivers States. He even assisted the Inspector General of Police and led a police squad in Akure.

The PSC chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (who’s now retired), gave Bakori a big mission: keep Kano peaceful! He told Bakori to jump into his new job fast, stop bad guys, and make sure everyone can move around safely and do their work without worry.

DIG Argungu said making maps of where crimes happen will help Bakori be a super-smart police leader. He promised the PSC will cheer him on and help him do an amazing job.

The PSC sent a letter, signed by Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, to the Inspector General of Police to make it all official
