Tinubu holds crucial meeting with service chiefs, Akpabio, others amid security concerns

On Tuesday, March 18, President Bola Tinubu held an important meeting with Nigeria’s top security officials at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The meeting was attended by the service chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other key leaders.

While the exact reason for the meeting hasn’t been officially revealed, many believe it’s linked to the rising security issues across the country. There have been increasing reports of deadly attacks by suspected herdsmen, particularly in Benue State and other parts of Nigeria.

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director General of the Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi, were all present at the meeting.

In addition, top political leaders like Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Nigerian Senate, and Opeyemi Bamidele, the Leader of the Majority in the Senate, were also part of the discussion.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and his deputy, Ben Kalu, were also seen at the meeting, signaling a united front in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
