Former presidential aide Doyin Okupe passes away after long illness

On Friday, March 7, it was reported that Dr. Doyin Okupe, a well-known Nigerian politician and former presidential aide, has sadly passed away at the age of 72.
Dr. Okupe, who had been battling a serious illness, is believed to have died after a long struggle, which may have been caused by cancer. He passed away early on Friday morning, March 7.
In 2022, Dr. Okupe was chosen to be the Director-General of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign for the 2023 elections. However, he had to step down after being convicted in a court case about money laundering.
People close to Dr. Okupe’s family shared that he had been very sick for several weeks before his passing.
