Super Falcons forward Macleans completes transfer to Saudi club Al-Shabab
Super Falcons forward Chinonyerem Macleans has finalized her move to Saudi club Al-Shabab, marking a new chapter in her career.
Macleans joins Al-Shabab from Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow, where she spent two years and netted 14 goals in 33 league appearances. Her transfer brings the total number of Nigerian players at Al-Shabab to three, joining Rita Chikwelu and Chinaza Agoh, who are already key members of the squad.
Speaking after her unveiling, Macleans expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I’m excited to join Al Shabab Women FC and contribute to the team’s success. Saudi Arabia’s vision for women’s football is inspiring, and I’m proud to be part of this journey.” Macleans was also part of the Super Falcons squad heading to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
