Stand-in head coach Oscar Hernandez continues perfect record in Barcelona’s dugout
Xavi’s brother Oscar Hernandez once again took charge of first-team duties as the Barcelona boss completed his two-match ban.
Oscar oversaw a 1-0 win for the Catalan giants over Cadiz to ensure his excellent record on the touchline continues.
Xavi’s brother has now won all seven of the games he’s been in charge of while his brother has served touchline bans.
It’s quite an incredible record, particularly when you consider that Barcelona have kept clean sheets in six of those seven matches.
Xavi will now return to the touchline for games against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The results of both games could potentially have a big say on Xavi’s future. The coach insists he’s leaving at the end of the season, but Barca remain hopeful he will stay on.
There have been many names proposed as potential replacements for Xavi, although Oscar Hernandez’s name is yet to emerge from the rumor mill as he looks set to depart with his brother at the end of the season.
