Sporting confirms financial details of payment for Amorim
Sporting Lisbon has confirmed the financial terms regarding the payment they will receive from Manchester United following the appointment of Ruben Amorim as the successor to Erik ten Hag.
Amorim is set to officially take charge of United on November 11 after completing his obligations with Sporting.
Manchester United will pay approximately £10.6 million to secure the former midfielder, which includes additional payments for his early release from a 30-day notice period. Amorim’s first match as manager of the Red Devils is scheduled for November 24 against Ipswich Town.
In a statement released on Friday, November 1, Sporting announced: “Sporting has reached an agreement with Manchester United FC (hereinafter MUFC) regarding the terms and conditions of the departure of coach Rúben Amorim, for which MUFC will pay Sporting €11,000,000 (£9.2 million).”
The statement further outlined that Sporting will benefit from an additional €1,658,000 (£1.4 million) related to the cancellation of credit rights, which were recorded as liabilities due to the revocation and renegotiation of contracts concerning intermediation commissions.
